Avoiding Car Scams
Posted by , Last modified by on 11 August 2011 05:02 PM

bidorbuy merely provides the platform for individuals and companies to advertise items they have for sale. bidorbuy does not manufacture, sell, supply, deliver or provide any of the items advertised on the site, nor do we purchase stock or hold stock of any of the products listed on the site, nor do we issue invoices or cover car purchases with our Buyer Protection Programme. We do not advertise the listings on our site on Gumtree, Junkmail or any other Classifieds websites and in newspapers, so be wary of any seller that advertises on these sites and tells you that bidorbuy will handle the transaction, delivery and payment - this is a scam.

Please remember to always make sure of all facts before proceeding with transactions:

  • if it was not found on bidorbuy and we do not verify that the seller is a user on bidorbuy then it is in all likelihood a scam, do not make payment to any sellers whatsoever before making sure of all the details.
  • always view the vehicle first before making payment
  • check that the seller is the rightful owner of the vehicle
  • is the price too good to be true?
