Opening a Criminal Case against a Seller

In the event that you may have fallen victim to a suspected scammer or fraudulent Seller, you can contact our Security team at or call us on 087 350 0099 to get the Seller's particulars or for further advice or assistance.  Once you have these details you should contact your nearest SAPS branch and open a case of Theft under False Pretenses against the Seller. In some instances, where we believe that no theft or fraud has taken place, we may require a Section 205 subpoena to release the Seller's full details in accordance with our Privacy policy.  We will try to assist the Police or the Investigating Officer with as much information that we may have on the seller and the transaction.

Please bear in mind, we provide no guarantees that the Seller's information is legitimate or valid or that you will be able to recover your funds.  We also cannot act on your behalf in a legal capacity as we are not the purchaser, therefore we cannot be the complainant when opening a case.
