How to Buy - Step 3: Completing the Purchase

Once you have won an auction, or added an item to your shopping cart, the next step is to complete the purchase.

Buy Now - Completing the Purchase

Step 1: Complete Your Purchase

After clicking "Buy Now" the item will be placed in your shopping cart. The number of items in your cart will be shown in the Cart button next to the Watchlist. To view items in your cart, you can hover your mouse over the cart button.

To proceed to your cart, click on the Cart button or on "View Cart & Checkout". Once in your cart, you can remove items from your cart, Continue Shopping or Continue Checkout.

You can also find the item by logging into your My bidorbuy account with your username and password. Under the Buying Tab, on the right hand side, under “Purchases” click on “Items Bought or Won in the past 2 weeks" or on "Items Bought or Won in the past year”. Under the “Order & Payment” column, click on “Complete your purchase” for that order.

Step 2: Select Quantities and Product Options

Clicking on the 'Continue Checkout' button will take you to the Quantity & Options page where you can review and modify your order. Select the Quantity that you would like to purchase and any optional extras that may be offered by the Seller. Then click on the green "Continue Checkout" button.

Step 3: Select the Shipping Option & Delivery Address

On the Shipping Info page, you can view or change your delivery address and select a shipping option. The charge box will be automatically populated with the correct shipping charges. If the Seller has not set up any shipping options, check the item description or ask the seller a question. Once you have established the shipping fee, enter it in the field provided. When you are happy with all the details, click on "Continue Checkout" button to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Review Your Order

Check that all the information is correct for your order and your delivery details. If you are happy, click the "Confirm your Order" button to complete the payment process.

Step 5: Payment

On the Payment page you will be required to select a payment method. Simply click on the button next to the payment option you wish to use and complete the payment process as requested. If no payment options are listed, please contact the seller.

If you have selected bobPay EFT (payments via Internet Banking/Direct Deposits using bobPay):

  • Click on the "Get EFT Instructions" button to complete payment via bobPay EFT.
  • Select the bank you intend to make the EFT payment from and then click on the "Continue to get EFT Instructions" button.
  • Follow the instructions on this page and take note of the account details and the unique 6 digit Recipient Reference that must be used for the payment to be allocated to the order correctly. This reference can also be used for direct deposits and cash deposits if the Buyer does not have internet banking, the system will reconcile the reference to the correct order.
  • Finally, follow the link on this page to your Bank's Internet Banking website, login and complete the payment as you normally would when doing an EFT/Internet Banking.

Important: If the correct reference is not used, it may hamper the process and delay the payment reconciliation, thus delaying your order. If an incorrect reference is used, bidorbuy or the Seller may ask you to send a proof of payment to billing@bidorbuy.co.za so the payment can be traced and allocated correctly.

If paying by Cash Deposit please include a R20 cash deposit fee on to your total payment amount.

Once payment has been received, confirmed and allocated by bidorbuy, both buyer and seller will be notified via email confirmation.

Payments via bobPay-Credit Card, bobPay-EFT or Pay Pal are instant and you will make the payment on the subsequent payment screens.

Once you have submitted the order, you will receive an email giving you the order and seller details. If you are buying multiple items using the Shopping Cart, click on the 'Shopping Cart' button to continue with other orders.

Winning an Auction - Completing the Purchase

If you win the auction you will receive an email confirmation asking you to complete your purchase online. You can also track your auctions and complete the auctions you have won through your My bidorbuy section. You can reach your My bidorbuy page by clicking My bidorbuy or Buy in the top navigation.

When you land on your My bidorbuy page, select the Buying tab. Under "Item Tracking" you will be able to track live auctions you are winning, losing or have lost. Under "All Items Bought or Won" you will be able to see all your purchases, whether on auction or at a fixed price. From there, you can proceed to complete the auctions you have won.

To complete the auctions you have won, follow the Steps 1 to 5 from the Buy Now - Completing the Purchase above.
